چکیده

The present study investigates the feasibility of producing strong and defect-free joints between 1050 aluminum pure copper sheets by micro-friction stir welding using traditional new tools. Many variables affect quality these types that parameters rotational speed, tool offset are considered main variables. Taguchi method analysis variance were used to design experiments evaluate obtained results. By analyzing results tensile test signal-to-noise analysis, average maximum ultimate strength is reported be 88 MPa, when with levels 2400 rpm, 40 mm/min, 0.25 mm. also showed speed respectively, had most significant effect on joints. minimum values from microhardness recorded for weld nugget zone heat-affected aluminum, which equal 192 HV 21 HV. Also, performing sanding operations, roughness significantly reduced. x-ray diffraction optimal samples presence intermetallic compounds CuAl2 Cu9Al4 in area. created strongly dependent formation compounds.

Friction stir welding of dissimilar alloys – a perspective

Friction stir welding does not involve bulk melting of the components that are joined. This has inspired attempts to exploit it for joining materials which differ in properties, chemical composition or structure, and where fusion can lead to detrimental reactions. The purpose of this special issue of Science and Technology of Welding and Joining was to assess the status of friction stir welding...
